EPAL 1 Euro pallets
The pool pallet most European supply chains are built around: 1200 x 800, nine blocks, and marks that can be read and checked. We supply new, used and reconditioned grades where the grade and the marking are confirmed for your order.
What you are actually buying
EPAL 1 is a licensed, quality-controlled pallet. The value is not the timber — it is that the pallet was produced or repaired by a licensee under a controlled specification, and that the marking on the blocks lets the next handler in the chain verify it. That is why EPAL-marked pallets are accepted in exchange arrangements where an unmarked pallet of identical size is not.
We are an independent supplier, not an EPAL licensee. We do not produce or repair pallets bearing EPAL marks, and we cannot confirm anyone's licence status on their behalf. What we can do is source EPAL-marked stock, describe the grade honestly, and put both in writing.
Grades we quote
- New. Unused, clean, consistent timber colour, sharp chamfers. Chosen for export where appearance matters, for automated handling, and for food-adjacent work where used timber is unwelcome.
- Used. Serviceable pool pallets with normal wear: discolouration, minor splinters, evidence of handling. The workhorse grade for domestic and repeat movements.
- Reconditioned. Pallets repaired back to a serviceable standard. Where a repaired pallet carries EPAL marks, it should also carry the authorised EPAL repair marking nail — if that is missing, treat the marking as unverified and ask us before ordering.
Grade availability moves constantly, so we do not publish stock or prices. Tell us the quantity, the route and the date, and the quotation confirms what is actually available.
Specification
The dimensional and construction figures for EPAL 1 — 1200 x 800 x 144 mm, 11 boards, 9 blocks, 78 nails, approximately 25 kg — are the published EPAL reference specification. They are set out in full, with the load figures and their conditions, on the EPAL 1 reference page. They apply to EPAL 1 and should not be read across to unbranded Euro-format pallets.
Crossing a border with them
EPAL marking and plant-health marking are different things. An EPAL pallet is not automatically compliant wood packaging for a cross-border movement: what matters is ISPM 15 treatment and the IPPC mark on the centre block. Read ISPM 15 explained before you assume a pool pallet clears a frontier, and consider our heat-treated, export-ready option where treatment must be confirmed.
What we will not tell you on this page
No stock figures, no prices, no load ratings for your goods and no treatment claim. Load behaviour depends on your product, your packing and your racking; treatment can only be stated for pallets sourced for a specific order.
