Heat-treated, export-ready Euro pallets

What “export-ready” means here

It means the pallets we source for you are heat-treated wood packaging carrying the IPPC mark required under ISPM 15, and that we state that in writing on the quotation and the paperwork for that specific order. It does not mean we have certified your consignment, that we act as an inspection body, or that a mark alone answers every question a border official may ask.

Solid wood packaging material moving between Great Britain and the EU must meet ISPM 15 treatment and marking requirements. The mark on the wood, rather than a certificate in a folder, is the key evidence — marks can be checked at the border, and non-compliant wood packaging may be rejected or destroyed. That is why we care so much about what is actually stamped on the block.

What the mark carries

• The IPPC symbol.
• The two-letter country code and the registered producer or operator code.
• The treatment code — HT for heat treatment, and DB where debarking is indicated.

Practical points that catch people out

• Repairs undo assumptions. If a treated pallet is repaired with untreated timber, the marking no longer reflects the pallet. Repaired wood packaging has its own treatment and marking expectations.
• Dunnage counts. Bearers, chocks, blocks and offcuts used to secure a load are wood packaging too, and they are a common cause of trouble at the frontier.
• Marks must be legible. A mark obscured by stretch wrap, labels, paint or dirt cannot be checked.
• Bark matters. Wood packaging is expected to be free from bark other than small tolerated pieces; visible bark invites a closer look.

Availability, honestly

Heat-treated, correctly marked Euro-format stock is not always available in every grade and quantity at short notice, and we will not claim otherwise. We quote against your date and quantity, and if we cannot confirm treatment and marking for the pallets actually offered, we will say so rather than imply it.

Where wood packaging is simply the wrong tool, we will point you at plastic Euro pallets, which sit outside ISPM 15 scope entirely.
